Niagara Falls will benefit from the upcoming rally for Harley-Davidson motorcycle owners which could pump more than $3 million into the local economy of the City of Niagara Falls and the surrounding area this summer.

The organizers are expecting as many of 4,500 people at the 20th anniversary rally July 10-12.  1,000 HOG members have pre-registered for the rally.  Nothing comes in for less than $100 when buying Harley-Davidson products. It's expensive. You get a different class of rider. The rally is a strictly HOG-member only event and is not intended to involve the "outlaw" element that is often acquainted with biker crowd. It is interesting to note that the average Harley-Davidson owner in America today is over 40 and earning in excess of $70,000 per year.

The event will start at Seneca Niagara Casino and will include a variety of activities, including a parade through the city and a series of self-guided rides that will take HOG members over the roads of Niagara County to visit various attractions, scenic spots, shops and restaurants.

HOG is a non-profit organization formed in 1983 in the home of Harley-Davidson, Milwaukee, Wisc. Local chapters have since been started in other states across the country and in Canada. All chapters originate from a dealership and all members must own Harley-Davidson motorcycles.  The Niagara Falls Chapter is based out of American Harley Davidson on Erie Avenue in North Tonawanda. He said the local chapter supports several area charities, including K9 Helpers, Wyndham Lawn Home and food banks in Niagara County.

This is my personal invitation to all those that have left Western New York to come back June 26-29th and experience 4 days of the Best of Buffalo...   If you ever lived here the food in Buffalo is some of the best around.   The people are too!  We are holding a great big party to welcome you back to Buffalo NY!   Perhaps you will find reason to come back to Buffalo like I recently did!

This four day event starts out with Buffalo Restaurants opening their doors and let's get out and eat!   What better way to start your Buffalo 4 day weekend at one of the many Buffalo dining establishments that are participating in this great event!

On Friday there is a Buffalo Business Showcase and Buffalo Career Fair taking place and Friday evening the Albright-Knox portico will be hosting a family event with entertainment and refreshments.  Walk over to the Shakespeare in the Park and enjoy a performance!  Although it is not lent Friday Fish Fry might just be something you want to enjoy before heading over to Delaware Park!

Saturday there are tours all over Western New York, go and explore perhaps enjoy a walking tour of Allentown, view one of the several Open Houses in Buffalo, or head south to East Aurora and the Roycroft Inn.  Don't forget to head over to Niagara Falls, Old Fort Niagara, Lockport or hit the Niagara Wine Trail.  What ever you plan on doing in the Buffalo area, make sre to head back to the 600 block of Main Street for an awsome Buffalo Homecoming Block Party from 8 pm- 1am in the Buffalo Theatre District. 

Sunday the festivities wind down at the Buffalo Zoo with a Sunday Brunch and From the Heart of Buffalo Fair.   The fair will feature artwork, apperel, jewelry, books and more by Buffalo artists about Buffalo New York!  You are sure to find a Buffalo keepsake or two at this event in Delaware Park.

What to do with Niagara Falls NY?

For years, this area has seen a steady flow of people that leave, and we watch as Ontario continues to develop and profit from our inaction. Do we as a community continue to stand by or do we take some action? Niagara Falls is the number 2 tourist destination in all of Canada. And Niagara Falls NY falls exactly where in the US priorities? Anyone else in the United States see a problem?
