I attended the first Buffalo Tweetup yesterday.   It was fun, and ActiveRain member get togethers are not the only one that find people taking tons of great pictures and friendships strengthened.  There were videos and podcasts.  I meet several great people and learned a few things while I was there.  

Several ActiveRain members have already written about Twitter here, but I thought you might want to know about Twitter secrets:

• Twitter Blocks -- see the relationships between people and find new people.   My Twitter block is:  http://explore.twitter.com/blocks/#propertydiva which I found Missy Caulk at http://explore.twitter.com/blocks/#missycaulk and then you get the idea how you can find others...
• http://www.twhirl.org/ will give you a free download to use Twitter from your computer's desktop.
• Quotably makes it easy to follow the @replies conversations that people are having on Twitter. Give it a try, it's very cool.
• http://www.twitterfeed.com/ will take any blog you have...Active Rain, Blogspot, Flickr...anything with an RSS feed...and will post it as often as you like to your Twitter. So you don't even have to GO to Twitter to Tweet.
• Have a wordpress blog?   Twitter Tools - Have your blog automatically notify Twitter when you post
• Twitter Etiquette - Evolving attitudes and concepts from Twitter users on how to behave on Twitter
• Tweet Scan - Search public Twitter posts in real-time from the page or using Firefox's search box. Find replies, track keywords, and sign up for daily/weekly email alerts.

Buffalo Homecoming 2008

Buffalo NY is having a four day celebration to have those that left find a reason to fall in love with Buffalo all over again. June 26-29 there will be a career fair, happy hour, tours, sunday brunch and so much more! Above is the video of the press conference announcing the event!

Local chefs feel the heat of ‘Hell's Kitchen'

Ramsay and his happy troupe of chefs will be heading back into Hell's Kitchen on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at 9pm Eastern. Right now, the show is slated to be a one-hour premiere.

WNY has a reason to be excited; we have two talented chef's competing in season 4 with Gordon Ramsey's Hell's Kitchen.  Shayna Raichilson-Zadok and Bobby Anderson give the Buffalo Niagara Region reason to be proud!  They are among 15 chefs competing in the fourth edition of the popular reality show, which premieres at 9 p.m. Tuesday on WUTV.   But anyone that knows Western New York, knows we know food!   It is not surprising that we would have two contestents in this season's lineup.

The news recently reported the plight of a WNY Couple and the retirement home they purchased in Frostproof Florida and paid in full in the 1980's.  According to the deed they are not the owner according to the Polk Property Appraiser's Office.

The couple are dealing with the thought of losing their Florida home which they've had for almost 40 years. They live most of the year in the Western New York Town of Rushford, and while they say their Frostproof home isn't much, they say it is theirs.

• RB Internal Links - I don't know how I lived without this tool before!   Organizing your posts by category, if you want link to one of your own posts, it is so easy with this tool!  Author: cohen
